The biggest news on the canid front is our new wolf habitat project. Once we've finished the new habitat, we'll have room for a pack of up to five grey wolves.
Rex
Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)

Rex was taken in by a private individual as a pet. Because he imprinted on humans when he was little, he cannot be released into the wild. Red foxes communicate with up to 28 different vocalizations, plus facial expressions and scent markings. Visitors often notice the smell from the fox habitat and ask if we have a skunk!

Bonnie
Coyote (Canis latrans)

Bonnie came to the Sanctuary after her mother was killed, leaving her orphaned as a pup. She can't be released into the wild because she's spent her entire life in captivity. Born in 2001, Bonnie has already lived far past a wild coyote's average life expectancy.
